In Hungary, for more than twenty years, ZTE has been one of the key suppliers of the FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) optical architecture for the commercial telecommunications services of Digi – now operating under the ‘One’ brand of the 4iG Group.

The only fully 5G-based network in Hungary is also provided by ZTE technology. At the ZTE Day 2024 in Hungary, the vendor presented its latest developments in 5G, 5G Advanced, fixed access (XGSPON), servers, virtualization, high-capacity data networks and private 5G solutions.

ZTE has long had a significant presence in the European market too, signing a European DWDM backbone agreement in 2006, which allowed GTS Central Europe to expand its existing connections between Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The backbone network has since been extended to include Poland.

In Albania, ZTE plays a significant role in supplying customer premises equipment (CPE) to ‘One’, the telecommunications provider owned by Hungary’s 4iG Group – including Optical Network Terminals and WiFi access points.
